Glasses Trends for 2023

Glasses Trends

Eyewear trends are always evolving, and every year brings something new to the table. So, if you're in the market for new glasses, here are some of the latest eyeglasses trends to consider.

Chunky frames

Bold and chunky frames have been in fashion for a while now, and they're not going away anytime soon. These frames come in a variety of shapes and colors, from square to round and cat-eye to oval. They are perfect for making a statement and are a great way to add some drama to your look.

Retro and vintage-inspired designs

Classic styles from the past have made a comeback in recent years, and this trend shows no signs of slowing down. Retro and vintage-inspired designs like aviators, round frames, and cat-eye shapes are all popular. Think Jackie O, Jeffrey Dahmer, and Marilyn Monroe.

Square frames

Oversized square glasses are also making their move in the industry. To soften the look, designers have opted with the rounded square look to compliment more face shapes. Black and oversized can be overwhelming for a lot of people, so we recommend going for a softer tortoise option instead.

Coming out of 2022, green is still a strong colour in 2023 in the glasses world. For men you will see more subdued tones of green, whereas in women's fashion you might see brighter pastel or emerald green.

Pantone announced the colour of 2023 as the Viva Magenta, which means you'll be seeing an increase in deep pink, magenta, and purple frames this year.

In conclusion, eyewear trends are constantly evolving, and there's something for everyone. Whether you prefer bold and chunky frames or thin and minimalist designs, there's a style out there that will suit your taste. So, don't be afraid to experiment and find the perfect pair of glasses to suit your style and personality. If you're ever unsure about what frame style or shape would suit you best, you can ask your local optometrist or optician for some guidance. We at Mission Creek Optometry are ready to help find your look for 2023!
