Eye Exams & Pre-Test Equipment
An eye exam is about more than a new prescription. It is a check on the health of your eyes, and a chance to talk through how your vision is working for you day to day. Here are the exam services we offer, and the equipment we use before you see the doctor.
Our exam services
Complete Eye Exam
A thorough check of your vision and the health of your eyes, with time to talk through what we find and what it means for you.
Ortho-K Consultation
A consultation about Ortho-K — specially designed lenses worn overnight that gently reshape the front of the eye, so you can see clearly during the day without glasses or contact lenses. Dr. Scott Percival is Kelowna’s exclusive Ortho-K provider.
Computer Eye Fatigue Syndrome Evaluation
An evaluation for eyes that feel tired, dry, or strained after long hours at a screen — looking at how your eyes work up close and what might help.
Contact Lens Fitting / Training
A fitting for contact lenses, with training on putting them in, taking them out, and looking after them — so you leave feeling confident, not rushed.
If you are not sure which exam you need, call us and we will help you book the right one.
Pre-test equipment
Before you see the doctor, we use advanced technology to get a clear picture of your eyes — including OCT and Optos digital imaging. These instruments take detailed images of the inside of your eye, including the retina at the back, so the doctor can check the health of your eyes thoroughly and keep a record to compare at your next visit.
The imaging is quick and comfortable, and it helps the doctor see things that are not visible in a standard eye check alone.
How often should you have an exam?
How often you need an exam depends on your age, your eyes, and your health. As a general guide, most adults benefit from a regular exam every one to two years, and children should have their eyes checked regularly as they grow. Your doctor will let you know what interval is right for you.
Book an eye exam — call us or book online, and we will look after the rest.
